Private preview
Free during preview. No surprise bill.
Forest pricing is still being validated with design partners. Billing is not active, there is no SLA, and preview users will not be charged without a separate agreement and advance notice.

How paid pricing is being designed
Platform subscription
The leading subscription metric counts an active human developer once per UTC month. It covers the release control plane, component exchange, policy, audit, and support.
Forest Runtime
Managed application compute will use a separate transparent consumption meter with included credit, budget alerts, hard limits, and advance notice before overages.
Your infrastructure
Provider work on customer-owned infrastructure is not billed as Forest compute. Customers still pay for the control plane, private artifacts, policy, audit, and support.
Trusted preview environments only
Forest Runtime and provider-backed releases exist, but neither carries a production hosting guarantee. Native components and release providers are trusted code, and runner, provider, artifact, workload, and tenant isolation require further hardening. Those controls are productization gates—not paid add-ons or shipped preview guarantees.
